I made and dearly paid for a silly mistake

At my age and knowing very well what season we are in at Minnesota, there are certain things that I should have known by now. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. That came out today. What happened?

I left the house at 10:00 AM for the office. After three hours of work, it was time to go home. Once in my car, I started the car but was greeted with a rude awakening. The car would not start. Why? I had made a stupid mistake. Which one? I had left the lights on. Lights on in winter? Yap, and I dearly paid for it. It took almost 2 hours before a fellow minister came around and rescued me.
I tried calling as many family members and friends but each one including my dear wife was busy.

As I was waiting, several things went through my mind

1.I was so mad with myself for making such a stupid mistake. I should have known better
2.I thought of how important family and friends are at moments like this. More often than not, we take them for granted
3.How useless technology can at times fail us. My phone died on me when I needed it most
4.Often times we are so much in early that we end up making very silly mistakes
5.Many people have destroyed their lives and even buried themselves deep into their own dug graves by making some silly mistakes
6. Perhaps the saddest one is to think that some of us will miss the heavenly home due to some careless mistakes

Oh boy ! What a day !

Watch out now and make sure to avoid some common mistakes. Ever made silly mistakes? Do you mind sharing?
