Where were you?
Every so often, the TV anchors ask people where they were at a certain
time in the world history. This is usually in reference to when certain
fortunate or unfortunate events took place that changed or touched the
world history. Such as?
1.When a famous president of a given country or celebrity died.
2.During a certain war
3.During a major catastrophic event at a given country
4.During a time when a certain president came to power
As would be expected, some people remember and others don't. After all, this is more a question of remembrance than
a knowledge question.
But when it comes to our God, the question as a much deeper meaning. Over the centuries men and women have naively taken upon themselves to question anything Godly, such as:
1.The existence of God
2.The creation story
3.The Trinity doctrine
4.The Birth of Jesus, the dead and resurrection and many like
Well, Job at one time in trying to understand the reasons behind his sufferings, took upon himself talking too much and trying to question God's fairness so to speak. Here is how God challenged him.
"Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand." (Job 38:1-4)
So, every time you find yourself tempted to question anything Godly, please read the entire passage of Job chapter 38 and be warned that God is not a human being to be challenged. It might help to also read Galatians 6:7 which reads:
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."
As they say, a word to a wise man is enough.
